Via - The Performing Artist
Via's career as a performing artist started at the young age of 3. It began with her attending Fancy Feet Dance Studio’s in the Bronx, NY where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, pointe and gymnastics for 13 years. Her singing career started at age 6 at St. Benedict’s singing in her church Choir, which was soon followed by private voice lessons at The Bronx House. The repertoire she studied there ranged from pop ballads to musical theater and Opera. She participated in every opportunity to be on stage from Grammar through High School performing in talent shows, plays and vocal choral groups. Not only was she performing, but she also choreographed shows for Salesian High School in New Rochelle, NY. Then, when old enough to teach, she worked as a dance teacher at Fancy Feet.
Melissa also attended CAP21, a musical theater conservatory at NYU. There, half of her training was dedicated to 15 hours of dance class per week including ballet, tap and theater jazz. The other half included vocal technique and acting. She hit the recording studios at age 21 when working with local producer Domenick Filopei (FILO &PERI) and songwriter Craig Mauro to record their song “Forever.” Shortly after, she produced her first music video to match her breakthrough song.
Her performance tools enhanced in her 20’s when she took up
voice-over lessons and began fashion and fitness modeling.
At age 29, she recorded another song “Move My Body” that is available on iTunes and Beatport.
